Critters

My bird and squirrel feeders have been busy this winter. I've watched as the squirrels learned how to take the top off the bird feeder and hang upside down inside to grab handfuls of bird seed. I keep the corn plentiful but I think there are three or more squirrels and they have a ravenous appetite.

Lately, a couple of cardinals have begun to check out my bird feeder. They're beautiful and plump. When Patches goes out the back door, they scoot. One day they'll discover, as the squirrels have, that she's no threat. I've seen a squirrel perched on the squirrel feeder watch with interest as Patches looks up at her.
